About

BIO

Jueon Park (b. 2002, Seoul, South Korea) is a painter based between Seoul and Chicago. His practice explores systems of iteration, opposition, and continuous process, investigating how structured methods can generate visual dialogue. In his recent work, Park uses monotype techniques on canvas, employing strategies of reversal and accumulation to build ongoing dialogues across surfaces. Throughout his practice, he challenges traditional ideas of resolution, emphasizing process over finality.

He earned his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2025. His work has been exhibited at EXPO Chicago (2025), the SAIC Fall Undergraduate Exhibition (2024), and Shapes and Spaces at Fulton Street Collective (2023). Park’s work is part of the public collection at the United Polaris Lounge at O’Hare International Airport. His work and perspectives have been featured in SAIC’s digital catalog and in an interview on SAIC’s official Social Media. He has also been recognized on the Dean’s List of Outstanding Sophomores (2023).
